This recipe is ideal as a post-workout recovery meal or as a refueling option between two demanding training sessions in the same day.

Add salt to a pot of water and bring it to a boil.

Add the rice, reduce the heat to a simmer, and cook for 10–20 minutes, or until tender.

Rinse the black beans thoroughly. Once the rice is simmering, add the beans to the pot.

When fully cooked, plate the rice and beans. Add a dash of sea salt, a generous drizzle of honey and mix thoroughly before serving.
