WHEN THE PERFORMANCE LAB COMES TO YOU

With MSN Pro Coaching, cutting edge physiological analysis and testing can now be undertaken by any athlete, anywhere.

MSN Pro Coaching is pleased to announce the launch of the mobile performance lab. Equipped with the latest in physiological testing, Mike Norton is now available to be contracted out to provide the best in performance analysis for your team or organization. With a suite of tests available, Mike can work with your organization to determine the necessary protocol specific to the athletes. Regardless of sport or discipline, Mike can work with you to construct the best menu of tests for your athletes and to meet your team at a time and location that suits best.

Blood Lactate Test

Ramp-up test to show sustainable threshold ability

Using the Mader protocol ramp test, the athlete exercises until exhaustion with blood lactate measurements taken at regular intervals. Using blood droplets taken from the ear lobe, blood lactate levels are used to establish anaerobic zones. This test can be used to monitor the athlete’s fitness throughout the season and to identify specific training patterns for improvement.

Body Composition Analysis

MSN Pro Coaching Skin-caliper Test

Regardless of sport or discipline, body composition has massive implications on performance. With the MSN Pro Coaching Skin Caliper Test, measurements of subcutaneous fat are used to determine optimal weight ranges for the athlete. This information can then be used to prescribe optimal diet or training plans., establish weight zones, and find ways to optimize the athlete for peak performance.

Moxy Monitor O2 Saturation Assessment

O2 Saturation Function

With state of the art Moxy monitors, it’s now possible to measure the athlete’s oxygen saturation point and hemoglobin utilization. Understanding how well the blood processes oxygen adds a physiological dimension that simply cannot be addressed by any other method.

Multi tests options:
  • 5-1-5 Testing Protocol
  • LT Break Point
  • Anaerobic Recovery Duration
  • Warm-up Protocol

Force-Velocity-Bar Path Evaluation

GymAware Flex Advanced Barbell Tracker

The FLEX Device utilizes advanced barbell motion tracking to measure and record a variety of key performance metrics, including:

  • Velocity (concentric, eccentric, peak, and average)
  • Power (concentric, eccentric, peak, and average)
  • Time (concentric and eccentric)
  • Bar distance
  • Bar path
  • Bar position

By analyzing these metrics, coaches and athletes can effectively assess strength development and identify specific areas for improvement along the Force-Velocity curve.

Vo2 Respiration Evaluation

Upper power and high-end ability assessment

Determine VO2 Max- the gold standard for gauging performance potential. Using a special face mask connected to a metabolic meter, the athlete will work until exhaustion. The data generated is then used to determine VO2 max, the relative anaerobic threshold, and ventilatory threshold. With VO2 measurements taken over regular intervals, athletes can gauge how performance responds over time and identify training patterns based on heart rate.

Bio-mechanical Motion Evaluation

Motion Capture Movement

With an array of cameras, this assessment is used to analyze form during exercise. This is essential for injury avoidance or identifying possible areas for performance gains.

Multi tests options:
  • Optimization of the riding position
  • Aerodynamic assessment of cyclists
  • Thrust balance analysis of the pedaling action
  • Running Gait Analysis
  • Resistance Training Form
  • Cycling dynamics and posture

Aerodynamic Postion Assessment

Aerosensor Cycling System

A true game-changer for performance, this innovative system takes on the ultimate rival for cyclists: the wind. Optimizing your riding position and choosing aerodynamically superior equipment are essential for staying competitive. This cutting-edge package combines three advanced components into a cohesive and synergistic ecosystem designed to elevate your performance:

  • Aerosensor: A state-of-the-art aerodynamic drag measurement device delivering real-time, precise insights into your aerodynamic profile. Optimize your position and maximize your speed with unparalleled accuracy.
  • Aerobody: A body position sensor that provides critical data on posture and form, helping you achieve the perfect balance of aerodynamics and comfort.
  • Aerodrome: A wireless lap trigger that seamlessly integrates with your training setup, offering effortless lap tracking and enhanced precision for every session.

Take control of the wind and revolutionize your cycling performance with this all-in-one aerodynamic solution.

Custom Orthotic Footbeds

Footbed analysis for maximum comfort and power transfer

Contact points are some of the most important aspects of a bike fit. With no two feet being the same, ensuring proper and comfortable fit is crucial for maximizing power and comfort. With industry partner Foot Levelers, each foot is analyzed and recorded. These measurements are then used to create custom orthotic insoles for cycling shoes, which will pay dividends over hundreds of thousands of pedal strokes.

Power Profiling

The power meter is only a useful training tool if paired to a power based training plan. A key pillar to building any training plan is the establishment of an athlete’s power profile. With a power profile test, the athlete will work until exhaustion, at which point power zones can be established and used for training.

Multi tests options:
  • Threshold Power Output
    • Ramp-up test to maximal effort
  • Force/velocity curve for cycling
    • Maximal power test (Wingate)
  • Endurance assessment test for cycling
    • Test showing k-joule output

Baseline Handgrip Dynamometers

General strength, bone density, physical function analysis

Handgrip dynamometry is becoming an essential tool for athletes, offering critical insights into physical performance and overall health. By measuring grip strength, it provides a reliable indicator of general strength, bone density, and physical function—key factors for optimizing athletic performance. It also helps assess potential risks such as injuries and imbalances, ensuring athletes can train smarter and recover faster. Beyond strength metrics, handgrip dynamometry reflects nutritional status and overall fitness, making it a powerful tool for monitoring progress and maintaining peak condition. Its simplicity and accuracy make it a must-have for athletes aiming to stay at the top of their game.

Biometric Blood Panel

The biometric blood sample panel analyzes two critical fuel sources for the body: red blood cell count and blood glucose levels. These markers provide valuable insights into whether environmental conditions and nutritional strategies are optimized for peak performance and overall health. For athletes, this analysis helps identify factors that influence endurance, energy levels, and recovery, ensuring that training and competition demands are met with maximum efficiency and resilience.

Multi tests options:
  • Red Blood Cell Count
  • Hematocrit
  • Blood Glucose

FMS (Functional Movement System)

The starting point is movement and balance

Muscular imbalances and soft tissue inefficiencies can be responsible for chronic pain or discomfort while training and racing. The FMS test can be used to determine latent imbalances or other issues, at which point they can be individually addressed and improved. Once addressed head on, the athlete can expect to feel stronger and perform longer with fewer interruptions.

Sim Car Racing

A race car simulator provides athletes with a dynamic platform to practice and refine key skills, including reaction timing, turn entry and exit speeds, pack positioning, and navigating optimal race lines. This immersive training enhances reaction speed, sharpens control, and improves the ability to carry momentum, all while building a deeper understanding of race strategy and decision-making under pressure.
